want to race motocross,what kind of bike is for me?
i am 15,5ft7 and 150 pounds and i wanna start racing motocross,now ive been loyal to my two strokes and love them whats a good two stroke? i may switch up to a fourstroke any suggestions on what type?ive been riding around an old rm 125. i want to get a bike and rebuild it and put performence parts.what type of bike do you think i should get.
I understand your loyalty to the 2 stroke, I raced them from the 80′s until 2004, then finally had to make the change to the thumper. If you want to race the Lites class you need a 250F, period. You cannot be competitive on a 125 in the Lites class. One thing I will mention. This year at the National Championships (Loretta Lynn’s) the Schoolboy class only permitted 125 2 strokes, no 100′s, 150R’s or 250F’s. So I am wondering if this is going to be the rule going forward. The AMA has been talking about a 125 only class for over a year since the 125 can no longer compete equally with a 250F. The resistance from most promoters was that there were already too many classes, so if they just change the rules to make the Schoolboy class 125 only there is no need to add another class. If this is going to be the new rule for 2010 you will get to race competitively on a 125 after all. Check with the local tracks you plan to race and see how they will run their Schoolboy class next season before making your purchase. I love racing 125′s so if they do this I may get a fake ID and some Botox injections so I can pass for 16 ( :
